Adsense vs. Payperpost

I know that most bloggers out there have pretty much tried every aspect of being able to earn money without actually having to “work” for it. People slap on the adsense script and hope that their visitors might click (be it accidentally or not) so they can earn money. The new wave have been people wanting to make money through payperpost.

I’ll be the first to admit that I tried google’s adsense, but I didn’t have it as the main “feature” of my personal website. I had it on a livejournal layout forum that my website had hosted–it made very little money, close to maybe $17.00’ish over the year it was up. That’s nowhere near close to what the payout is ($100).]

Granted I currently have just earned $2.50 (and paid out after the 30-day wait period) but I was paid for the single blog I had done. It doesn’t sound like much, but if you figure that there’s more then 20 opportunities to take, it’s a lot easier to make easy money through payperpost which takes a little effort to make creative blog posts, as opposed to slapping up the ugly script for ads (and who wants ads on their site anyway?)

I think it’s only logical that bloggers who receive upwards for 10,000 hits a day to use google adsense, as they’re more than likely to make more money with that amount of hits, versus a blogger who gets decently close to that in a month. Either way, I’m definitely going to hit up ppp some more just to have a few extra bucks a month.

there’s a lot i want to write about…

–but I know that the people I work with are smart with google, so who knows if they’ve already googled my name. I know I would do the same with theirs just out of curiosity and because I’m a nerd.

Either way, I’ve got a crush on someone, but I’m not sure where it’s going to go–if it’s even headed anywhere for that matter. I’ve been working about 65+ hours a week between Best Buy and Caribou. Amy and I are house hunting since Zach, Jimmie, Ashley, and of course Amy and I are going to move into a place together.

Well, time to head out. I have clothes to wash and sleep to catch up on.

My lack of a social life.

Over the weekend I didn’t have any plans, and that brought to my attention that I’m really going to lack a social life starting this week. With working both jobs during the day from 9am until about 9:30-10pm, I’m definitely not going to have the will or even strangth to want to go out and have fun with my friends. It’s kind of depressing to realize that most of my time during the week is literally at work (considernig that I’ve already put 44 hours of time into Caribou Coffee, and that’s was just this week sans Best Buy hours.)

But I think what got to me was the fact that I’m not twenty-one yet. Over the weekend an old “friend” turned 21, so everyone went out to some bars to celebrate. Obviously I didn’t go since I’m not of age to go, and I’m sure I wasn’t even really considered to go, but hey, that’s life. I just hate that on Saturday, after I got home from a long 14 hour work day, I was actually awake and energetic wanting to go out–but everyone was out at the bar, so that was out of the picture. Friday night they went out too, but I didn’t mind since I ended up passing out around 11pm from exhaustion.

The only good thing that’ll come out of me working so much is the money. I’ll be getting paid every week (one week Caribou, the next Best Buy) but that’ll only get me so far. I’ve debated whether or not to tell Sally that I only want to work two days a week at her store, that way I won’t have so many days of double shifts. Not only that but I’m starting to dislike working there. It’s so slow that all you can ever do is clean, and after you’ve cleaned, you clean over what you just cleaned. Not my idea of earning money, that’s for sure. And also the fact that she kind of told me that some of what I did is not what her store does. God forbid I make a full batch (4qts) of cooler mix, as opposed to having 2 half batches sitting in the fridge. It makes sense to have less containers with more mix, right? Apparently not. Not only that but eh, I just don’t want to work at that store much longer. I don’t know why, maybe last night was a bad night.

I’ve got to run in a few more minutes. Aside from working so much, I also spend 1:40pm-2:30pm dropping off my sister and three other kids from her school. They get out at 2pm, and around 2:10 we finally get out of the parking lot, then by 2:30pm they’re all dropped off. Whenever I work at the Tinley Park store, Nicolle stays with two of the three until my parents pick her up. And on days when I’m in Frankfort, I take her home since work is on the way.

Thought you were busy? Psh. Trying balancing a morning shift at one job, then picking up kids from school, then a night shift at another job. And also try to add in hanging out with friends, trying to get online to work on your hosting company, as well as other leisure time (from showering, to reading or watching tv.) *rips out hair*

I’m sick, and a work-a-holic.

Tomorrow is my only day off and after that I’ve got a week of working and then I’m off for an entire weekend. It was kind of like that this week as well, since I was supposed to have Wednesday off, but I ended up going into work (I’m not even sure why?) I’ve got the job at Best Buy, but right now they’re waiting to schedule any hours for me since they want to do a bit of an orientation with whomever else they decide to hire (which might also be my friend Brian.)

I knew I was going to get the job, but I appreciate all the good lucks from my last entrie’s commentors. I only say that because I’ve worked with Best Buy before, so I’ve got the knowledge, experience, and personality for it. Only instead of going into Home Theater like I originally was told, I’m now being put into PCHO (Persoal Computers and Home Office) because well, I was told that it would’ve been a miss(take?) to not put me into their due to the fact that it’s my major/minor, and that I’ve got the experience in the department. Eric, the gm, also wants me to bring on the competition with the other guys. haha, that’s definitely something I can do, since we did that at my other BB store.

Aside from working, I’ve been trying to deal with a cold. It started Sunday night with a boner of a sore throat. It progressed on over to Monday, and despite feeling weak and easily annoyed I still went into work. By Tuesday the sore throat was gone, but I started to hack up my lungs. Wednesday brought on the congestion with hacking. Today is a lot better but I am still half congested, and there’s a shit ton of mucus still in my lungs that I’m still coughing up. Work better be fucking glad that I still came into work as opposed to calling off.

Busy little bee

I think it’s safe to say that this weekend was my last weekend of “freedom.” I had four days off in a row (if you don’t count me going into work on Saturday for three hours, for my shift supervisor test which I got a 98% on!). I was supposed to go in on Monday for my interview with Best Buy but they were pretty swamped, so Andy the HT supervisor rescheduled it for today at 11am.

The interview definitely went well, and while I was spying on his paperwork I noticed that most of the questions I answered were marked with “exceeds expectations.” Quite awesome, but then again, I am pretty awesome so it’s expected. I go in again this week for my 3rd interview with the GM, and then hopefully next week I’ll be starting back up with BB. I’m happy because BB is one of the best jobs I’ve held, and I’m kind of excited to get back in the game with it.

I’ll be going into home theater as opposed to PCHO (Computers) or Wireless. It’s going to be interesting because I don’t have the product knowledge or the technical knowledge with TV’s and Sound systems but I can learn pretty quick. What’s awesome is that they don’t have to worry about training me for Care+ and various other BB elements. Andy also mentioned that my experience will hopefully be taken into account for a pay increase from what I was last making at BB.

The only hard thing is going to be juggling Caribou Coffee and BB since the hours are a bit weird. I might end up taking less Frankfurt hours, and keeping the Monday/Tuesday shift at Tinley, and get more hours at BB. Especially if I’ll get paid more. Eventually I’d like to go back to being FT with BB, since the benefits (and pay!) are a lot better.

Well, time to get going.. Just wanted to hop on for a bit before work, which is 2-9:30. Joy. I hope this store isn’t as dead and boring as people have been saying. If that’s the case, I might just bring a book with, and pray to god that it’s not that dead… Otherwise I’ll be begging Amy to hurry it up on the iBook so I can take it with me tomorrow, and hop on someone’s unsecured wifi to keep myself occupied.

Ohh, and I’ll be going to the White Sox game on Thursday. Definitely going to remember to charge the camera’s batteries before I go, so I can actually get pictures. ‘Cuz I definitely do not consider camera phone pictures to be pictures at all 🙂
